San Juan Symphony ~ Dread, Redemption, Nirvana

Mozart’s Requiem, his unfinished final work, seems to have foretold his own tragic death at the age of 35. Nineties rock star Kurt Cobain, whose life careened out of control, is remembered in music by Canadian electric guitarist, Tim Brady. These two pieces, shrouded in the mystery of lives cut short, reach beyond this world to the mystical. Combined Durango and Farmington choruses join with vocal soloists to carry Mozart’s timeless message, while our young Side-by-Side musicians bring the hope of youth and renewal.
