After a successful international performance tour, the FLC Choirs return this fall with a concert centered around the idea of what makes vocal music so special, the text. In the concert of the same title, (“Text.”) Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Men’s and Women’s Choirs, and Hawkappella will feature pieces with lyrics from well-known poets such as Shakespeare, Keats, Wordsworth, Dante Alighieri, and Rilke, among others. The music varies from a gentle serenade in French by Men’s Choir, to a gorgeous piece by Giuseppe Verdi for Women’s Choir, to the exciting and rhythmic set from A Nation of Cowslips by Dominick Argento for Chamber Choir, Concert Choir’s rousing gospel selections, and Hawkapella’s gritty blues-inspired rock songs. This concert will have a little something for everyone to enjoy.
This performance is FREE for current FLC Students and attendees 18 years old and younger. FLC students will need to present their ID at the venue door for automatic entrance. FLC Students will not need to obtain a printed complimentary ticket. One (1) seat to each FLC Music Department event per current FLC ID.
